How the mobile service works
You tell us the vehicle and where it is. We turn up with everything needed, read the existing file off the ECU and save it, write the map for that specific vehicle, load it, and road test before we hand the keys back.
It happens on your driveway, outside your work, or at your yard. There is no drop-off, no courtesy car and no waiting room.
Where we cover
We work within roughly 25 miles of Rugby and Lutterworth, which takes in Coventry, Leicester, Northampton, Nuneaton, Hinckley, Kettering, Leamington Spa, Warwick and the villages in between.
If you are not sure whether you are inside that, ring and ask. It is a short conversation and we would rather tell you honestly than have you guess.
What you need to have ready
Somewhere reasonably safe to park where we can work at the vehicle, and a battery in decent health. Writing to an ECU with a weak battery is the one thing that genuinely can cause problems, so if yours is tired, say so and we will bring support for it.
That is about it. Everything else comes with us.
Mobile Remapping questions, answered
What does mobile remapping mean?
We come to the vehicle rather than you bringing the vehicle to us. The full job, including reading the original file, writing the map, loading it and road testing, happens where the vehicle is parked.
How far do you travel?
Roughly a 25 mile radius of Rugby and Lutterworth. That covers most of the south Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire area.
Is a mobile remap as good as one done in a workshop?
It is the same work with the same equipment and the same files. The vehicle does not know where it is parked. The only jobs that genuinely need a bench are the ECUs that have to be opened and read directly, and we tell you in advance if yours is one.
Do you need power or anything from me?
Just somewhere safe to work at the vehicle and a battery in reasonable health. We bring everything else.
How long will you be there?
Typically one to three hours depending on the vehicle.
Can you come to my workplace?
Yes, as long as there is somewhere we can safely work on the vehicle and whoever owns the site is happy with it.
Do you work weekends?
The published hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm and Sunday 8am to 2pm.
What happens if it rains?
Most of the work is done from inside the vehicle through the diagnostic port, so weather is rarely a problem. If conditions genuinely make it unsafe we will rearrange rather than rush it.
Can you still road test it?
Yes. Road testing is part of the job, not an optional extra, and it happens before we hand the keys back.
What if something goes wrong while you are there?
Your original file is read and saved before anything is written, so the vehicle can be put back to standard on the spot.
Do you offer a workshop option instead?
Yes. There is a workshop at the Lutterworth base if you would rather bring the vehicle to us.
